IPS-LCD
This is another smartphone display. IPS stands for in-plane switching. It provides
better image quality as compare to TFT LCD. It provides better viewing angel
and true colour reproduction. Because the way the panel works reduces off-
angel colour shift. And it also consumes
less power mean battery friendly as compare to TFT LCD. It founded on high end smartphones like Apple
phone, iphone and ipad . Apple uses a high resolution version of IPS LCD in its
latest iphone, which is also called as Retina display.
In today’s Smartphone
IPS used either super or advanced supper IPS. In case of TFT LCD there is only
one transistor for each pixel, but in this case of IPS- LCD there are two transistors
for each pixel.
IPS-LCDs typically
are found on high-end cell phones and portable devices. Apple's iPhone and iPad both feature IPS-LCDs, as does the Motorola Droid
